My hope is in Jesus

This is my SOAP devotional for 5/27

S - Psalm 25:4-5
4 Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;

5 guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

O - I thought for a long time as a young adult that if you had down the basic concepts of Christianity and a desire to do good that that was enough. We read here that we should desire a continuous relationship with the Lord. That He guides us daily, when we ask for and invite Him to be in charge of our lives. We should be open to continuous teaching in His word and by the Holy Spirit. It is not enough to just know "the law", we should seek guidance in all things as to avoid the traps or deception of our enemies. We need a savior!

A - Oh how we can be deceived with our eyes and ears, and waver based on our feelings at the moment. I confess my weakness for the distraction to get caught up in what I perceive as destruction. How easy it is for me to forget how big God is and how He already knows the outcome of each battle. I must place my hope in Jesus.

P - My hope is in you Lord. Seeing your path is easy when I remember to put on my blinders and run the race YOU have laid out for me. Where would I be without you my Lord Jesus, my savior! Amen.
